VBF Latin America and ABRAPHEL Raising Awareness in Brazil
The morning began with lectures from Dr. Heloisa Campos who presented the characteristics and treatments for the Hemangioma and Linphangioma, Dr. José Luiz Orlando who showed the sclerotherapy procedures, and Dr. Marli who talked about the main Hemangioma syndromes and genetics aspects. After the coffee break, Mrs. Rita Motooka and Ana presented the psychological aspects involved in a disease and Dr. Alexandra talked about the rights of patients. To finalize, Mrs. Andréa Domingues presented the ABRAPHEL activities and started the Campaign to collect information from patients with the objective to have a chart with the situation of treatments in Brazil. ABRAPHEL activities involved a support group, a semester newspaper, participation in health events and a campaign for collecting information by patients to ask changes on the Health system in Brazil. It was the third time that we participated in the Day of Awareness created by VBF, which it is always an inspiration to work for better treatment conditions in Brazil. Most of the Brazilian people don't know about the diseases and of the treatments. |

A.C. Camargo, in Sao Paulo.
